How long will it take to set my web hosting reseller account up?
We maintain spare capacity on our servers which allows us to set up your reseller account soon after you order it. This usually happens within an hour or two of ordering the account.
However, if you are pointing any domain names to your new web hosting reseller account, please note that it can take up to 48 hours for these to resolve correctly.
Are there any limits on my web hosting reseller account?
You can create an unlimited number of accounts within your reseller space. The amount of web space and bandwidth you can use is also unlimited.
However, all web hosting reseller accounts must be operated within our standard terms and conditions. If your reseller business is very busy, we recommend switching to a dedicated server. These have the additional processing power to cope with busy websites.
I already have a reseller account with another host. Can you help me move my accounts over?
In general, our reseller accounts use industry-standard hardware and software. This makes it easier to transfer websites.
Please note that we do not offer a transfer service. However, we are always available if you need assistance with your reseller account. Call one of our experts on 0870 741 4151 and they will do whatever they can to help.
Is there a minimum contract on reseller accounts?
There is no minimum contract on our hosting reseller accounts. However, you can make a significant saving if you choose to pay quarterly or annually instead of monthly.
Can I install my own software on a hosting reseller account?
Our reseller accounts are hosted on servers which are shared with other Donhost customers. This means we are unable to offer root or administrator-level access, and it is not possible for you to install your own applications.
If you need the flexibility to install and run your own software, please consider a dedicated server instead.
Can I pay for my reseller account in advance?
Yes - you can pay monthly, quarterly or annually. All payments are taken in advance. If you sign up quarterly or annually then the overall cost of your reseller account will be lower.
Can I upgrade my reseller account later on, if I need to?
Our hosting reseller accounts offer unlimited storage space and bandwidth, so there is lots of capacity for your hosting business to grow into.
However, our most successful resellers have found they reach a point where the processing power available from our shared reseller platform becomes insufficient for all their customers' sites. In this situation, we usually recommend moving to a Donhost dedicated server.
Are there any usage restrictions on reseller accounts?
All sites hosted on a reseller account must comply with all our terms and conditions, as well as our acceptable use policy.
