Get started with Donhost

This guide is for new customers. It provides an introduction to the main elements of our services. If you have a technical query, please search our support centre.

Account activation notice

When you sign up with Donhost, you will receive an account activation notice by email. If you have not received yours, please contact our support team before continuing. You can get in touch on 0870 741 4151.

The activation notice contains the username, password and host names you need to use our services. Please keep this information safe and have it to hand when you contact us for any reason.

Control panel

The control panel is central to your Donhost service(s). It allows you to manage all aspects of your account and view support documentation specific to your account.

Log in to your control panel here. Use the username and password contained in your activation notice.

Email

No email addresses or mailboxes will be set up on your account when you first log in. Use your control panel to create mailboxes and choose how you want to handle email.

Website

You can upload your website files by connecting to the FTP server shown in your account activation email. Use an FTP client to do this, and log in with your main username and password.

If you need assistance with your Donhost services, there are several places to get advice and information:

  • The documentation within your control panel. This is the best place to start, as it contains information specific to the Donhost services you have purchased.
